Hyundai and Kia anti-theft software fix
FEB 14 2023
On 14 February 2023 Hyundai and Kia began rolling out a free anti-theft software update for affected models, extending the alarm and requiring the key to be in the ignition for the vehicle to start. Remaining eligible vehicles were covered by June 2023, with owners of ineligible models offered reimbursement for steering wheel locks. The fix came roughly seven months after the theft technique went viral.
