Milk Crate Challenge and TikTok ban

In August 2021 participants stacked milk crates into a pyramid and attempted to walk up and over without the structure collapsing. Falls produced fractured ribs, broken wrists, shoulder dislocations and ligament tears, with clinicians warning of possible spinal cord injury. TikTok announced on 25 August 2021 that it was removing the videos and redirecting searches for the hashtag to its community guidelines.
