MTV Bakra - Indian hidden-camera prank television

MTV Bakra, hosted by Cyrus Broacha, began in 1999 on MTV India and ran until 2009, becoming the defining Indian hidden-camera prank show. Modelled on Candid Camera, it played elaborate practical jokes on members of the public and on celebrities; 'bakra' is Hindi for 'goat', colloquially the mark or dupe of a prank. The format made Broacha a household name and spawned numerous Indian imitators.
