Collective Digital Studio cut ties with Pepper weeks after signing him, and VidCon and the YouTubers React series also dropped him. Separately, several women came forward with allegations of sexual misconduct and the LAPD opened an investigation. This demonstrated early that platform-adjacent institutions, not YouTube itself, carried the consequences.
