Society for Indecency to Naked Animals

Alan Abel launched SINA on NBC's Today show, a straight-faced campaign to clothe naked animals under the slogan 'a nude horse is a rude horse'. Actor Buck Henry fronted it as the organisation's president G. Clifford Prout and carried the act onto CBS Evening News in August 1962. The hoax ran for years, at one point staging a White House protest demanding trousers for Jackie Kennedy's horses, and is a founding text of the modern media prank.
