"Me at the zoo" - the first YouTube upload

On 23 April 2005 co-founder Jawed Karim uploaded a 19-second clip of himself at San Diego Zoo talking about elephants. It was the first video ever posted to YouTube. Its amateurish, unscripted, handheld quality set the aesthetic register that prank channels would work in for the next twenty years.
