'Devious Licks' school theft and vandalism trend

Beginning with a 1 September 2021 video showing a stolen box of disposable masks, the trend spread across US schools as students filmed themselves stealing or destroying soap dispensers, sinks, exit signs and entire bathroom stalls. TikTok removed the originating video on 13 September and banned the hashtag outright on 15 September, though users evaded the block with variants. Students were arrested and charged with theft and vandalism across multiple states.
