K24 TV's Davido arrest prank

On 1 April 2024 Kenya's K24 TV broadcast an April Fools' report that the Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido had been arrested in Kenya after cocaine was found on his private jet. It went viral, helped by his having just performed in Nairobi. Davido called it 'extremely irresponsible', said 'I have never been arrested by anyone in any country for any crime in the world', and instructed lawyers to pursue the outlets; Kenya's Directorate of Criminal Investigations labelled it fake news.
