TTS donation trolling emerges on Twitch

Text-to-speech donation alerts, which read a paying viewer's message aloud on stream, became a vector for trolling. Kotaku's February 2015 coverage of a streamer being spammed with repeated single letters is among the earliest documented cases. The technique later escalated from nuisance spam to broadcasting slurs through a streamer's own audio feed, since word filters are easy to circumvent with spacing and substitutions.
