Adloyada (עדלאידע) - the Tel Aviv Purim parade

The first Purim costume parade in Tel Aviv was held in 1912, three years after the city's founding, conceived by the artist Abraham Aldema, who taught drawing at the Herzliya Gymnasium. The procession initially ran only about 350 metres along Herzl Street. In 1932 the parade was given the name 'Adloyada', from the Aramaic 'ad delo yada' ('until one no longer knows'), the Talmudic phrase licensing Purim revelry. A recurring annual custom.
