TBS obstacle-course game show first broadcast on 2 May 1986, starring Takeshi Kitano as a count whose castle contestants must storm through a gauntlet of physical challenges. It ran to 19 October 1990 across 133 episodes plus four specials. Redubbed for foreign markets it became a global cult hit and seeded an entire genre of physical-endurance game shows abroad.
