FBI opens a national swatting database

Under congressional pressure the FBI launched a web-based system allowing police agencies and fusion centres to log and share swatting incidents in near real time. More than 400 incidents were recorded in its first seven months. Until then no national count of swatting existed, which had made the scale of the problem impossible to establish.
