Banksy's Better Out Than In residency

Through October 2013 Banksy attempted to unveil a new work every day across New York City, announced only via Instagram, turning the city into a daily treasure hunt covered obsessively by local media. Works were stolen, defaced and boarded over within hours of appearing. The residency demonstrated that the announcement mechanism, not the object, had become the artwork.
