The Yes Men print a fake New York Times

More than a million copies of a convincing 14-page fake New York Times were distributed free in New York and Los Angeles, dated 4 July 2009 and headlined 'IRAQ WAR ENDS'. The edition imagined national health care, a rebuilt economy and progressive taxation as accomplished facts. It was produced by the Yes Men with Steve Lambert and hundreds of volunteers, and functioned as a piece of speculative journalism rather than a straightforward deception.
