The Bird Box Challenge

Following the release of Netflix's Bird Box, users filmed themselves performing everyday tasks blindfolded. Netflix publicly asked people to stop, tweeting that they did not want anyone ending up in hospital because of a meme. On 7 January a 17-year-old in Layton, Utah pulled a hat over her eyes while driving, crossed into oncoming traffic and struck another car; no one was seriously hurt.
