r/place returns at massive scale

Reddit revived r/place on 1 April 2022, running about 87 hours with the canvas expanding twice, ultimately to 2000x2000 pixels. Over 10.4 million users placed tiles and the event drew more than 1.1 billion views, dwarfing the 2017 original. Large communities, streamers and national fandoms organised coordinated pixel armies, and the finished canvas became a widely analysed snapshot of internet culture.
